I have no idea how I have never been here before. Absolutely insane views! Easy-peasy trail (or no trail if you'd rather just drive to the top). Plus bonus points for the super nice fire lookout guy who let us tour around and showed us how to spot fires and gave us history lessons and the outhouse. Thanks Vern, you're good people.
Apparently there are three ways to get here according to the lovely folks at WTA. There's the drive all the way to the top because you're a cheater and don't deserve to bask in the glory of ol' Rainey. There's the you're kind of a cheater, but we'll let it slide because you have small children or old people in your party trail that's only about a mile each way (hint; this was us). And then there's the, you have earned the right to the best summit picnic table and first dibs on Vern's outhouse, trail. No matter how you get up here though, totally worth it.
I mean, just look at this!! I saved the Rainier pic for last, it just seems like cheating to lead with that amazingness.
