This one has been appearing pretty frequently lately in my searches for some new territory to cover. Not much elevation to speak of, which makes it a great candidate to come back to with the kiddos. But on today's adventure, I was joined by another mommy friend, which was great. Lots of good conversation, and lots of miles, even if they weren't up.
I feel like my friend Shauna is one of a handful of people, who when I say things like, 'I think I'm going to become a yoga instructor who does hiking/yoga sessions for people in recovery,' doesn't say, 'oh cool,' but really means, 'yeah you're crazy and you can't make a living doing that.' She's always got new schemes and ideas to make money from home, so she gets it. And she's totally down with the not-9-to-5 gig.
So we talked alot about plans for the near future. She's moving homes, I'm moving down my paths. We talked about our kids, and how wonderful and awful mommying is. We talked about getting older and learning about our bodies, for better and worse. And at the end of the 5 miles of walking and talking, we sat for a while and watched a beautiful coursing waterfall.
It was lovely. Blister inducing loveliness.
